I was born in the north of England, and grew up in a house steeped in the scents, rare and exotic during the 60s, of Mediterranean cuisine as well as of oil paint and genuine turpentine made from pine resin. Also exceptional at that time, my childhood holidays in the south of France. Today I live 3 kilometres from the village where I spent long and happy summer vacations. I walk in the same meadows, on the same ochre trails and I stretch out on the same beaches by the aquamarine waves. Every day now, without a second thought, I buy ingredients and cook dishes from all around the Mediterranean Sea. And true to my artistic roots, I am an artist myself, painting and drawing but using water-based mixed media, primarily acrylics and inks.

As a child, I spent many hours in artists' studios. I learned the basics of creative techniques in those workshops. After studying sculpture at art school in the UK, I moved to the south of France, where I worked for many years in the creative development of brands and regional identity awareness; in particular I worked for "L'Occitane En Provence" during its acclaimed international roll-out. I continued to create art and travelled to many destinations around the world, feeling the most drawn to and inspired by Asia. Since 2003 I have been working full time in my studio in L’Occitanie; by far the most beautiful of my voyages of discovery.

Je suis née dans le nord de l'Angleterre. J'ai grandi dans une maison imprégnée des senteurs, rares et exotiques au Nord dans les années 60, de la cuisine méditerranéenne ainsi que de la peinture à l'huile et de la véritable térébenthine à base de résine de pin. Exceptionnel aussi pour cette époque, mes vacances d'enfance dans le sud de la France. Aujourd'hui, j'habite à 3 kilomètres du village où j'ai passé de longues et heureuses vacances d'été. Je marche dans les mêmes garrigues, sur les mêmes sentiers d’ocre et je m'étends sur les mêmes plages au bord des mêmes vagues du Grand Bleu. Quotidiennement j'achète des ingrédients et je cuisine des plats de toute la Méditerranée. Et fidèle à mes racines artistiques je suis moi-même devenue artiste-peintre, alors que j’utilise plutôt des acryliques et de l’encre.

Enfant, j'ai passé de nombreuses heures dans des ateliers d'artistes. J'ai appris les bases des techniques créatives dans ces ateliers. Après avoir étudié la sculpture à l’école des beaux-arts, j'ai déménagé dans le sud de la France. J'ai travaillé pendant de nombreuses années dans le développement créatif d’image de marque et la valorisation de territoire; ceci notamment pour «L'Occitane En Provence» lors de son déploiement international acclamé. J'ai continué à créer de l'art et j'ai voyagé vers de nombreuses destinations à travers le monde, me sentant le plus attirée et inspirée par l'Asie. Depuis 2003, je travaille à plein temps dans mon atelier en Occitanie dans le sud de la France - le plus beau de mes voyages.
