Originally created following a wonderful and memorable visit I made to Monet's gardens in Giverny, this project now includes photographs I have taken in gardens in my own region of l'Occitanie, like the  Bambouseraie in Anduze and friends’ cherished private spaces. As the project evolves, I am gradually pushing the boundaries towards greater abstraction and rhythmic mark-making, using my photographic studies of cut wood, flowers and bamboo, and eventually even maps of places from my childhood... my own secret garden.
